January 1997
I just recently became a Web surfer. Iam very much impressed with the amount of Vietnam era information available. Your home page will be of great use to me in the future as I try to locate some of the Men I served with when we were called Task Force Oregon and then later the Americal Division at Chu Lai. I was an interrogator at the POW compound located at the south end of the east runway used by the Marine fighter squadron. Hope to make much use of this web site.
Thanks,
Let's get back some of what we gave. At least for our children.
Interested in finding friends from old outfit.
Very nice home page. Member of the 1/1 Cav Assn. Good luck!
Glad to see internet access to Veteran organizations

It's Great
Glad to see the American on the Web.
I was very pleased to see this site on the web. I think it is very important so people can learn what a great Div the Americal really was. I am proud to both a member of this Div as well the Div Association
Thanks for supplying this terrific page. I hope this will help myself and others to locate and renew the commradeship and brotherhood we all had so many years ago. It is all still needed for all of us today. Thanks so very much.
Respectfully ,
Looking for buddies
Good Job - Helps me let friends know about us.
I was attached to a arty. div. at Tra Brong. (LZ Sharon)
LOOKS GOOD TO ME BRO.
Very good home page - this is the first time I have been here.
Great JOB.
This is the first page I went to and if the rest are was well done as this, I believe you have a winner! I hope I got the chapter correct. I live in PA.
196th Reunion in Washington, DC Aug 14-17. Hope to see you there
I think this is a great Web Page; well done! I will be back often. I note that the Order of Battle quoted does not list the unit in which I spend a year! The historian does not realize that the three brigades kept their separate structures, at least through the end 1969 for sure. In any case the 6th Support Battalion, 11th Light Infantry was at LZ Bronco (Duc Pho) during my time there. I went in from Hawaii as CO of Company B.
I enjoyed the visit. I would like to hear of or from any one who knows me or knows the where abouts of Tim Webber, Max Nelson or Ken Stafanic. thanks
I would like to see more about the 198th Brigade
I want to thank you for the services that you provide on the innernet. I hope some day I will make contact with some one who served with me in the Americal 198th Inf. There seem to be alot of the 196th Inf.
Well done.
I would love to get in touch with guys that I served with. My nickname was/is Blue.
Was just looking around and found this page, thought I would sign your guest book. Haven't found anyone I was in the service yet..Thought I would give this a try.
Hi Mc,Doc,Woody,Ellis, and all, If you can read this write me at
I was just curious and would like any email if possible.
I was medivaced out of RVN, prior to 23rd Div, I had been in the 1st Div while in RVN.
I am the Jefferson County Veterans Service Officer, here in central Oregon.
Looking for anyone in the 8th Medical Battalion of the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
Glad to find another organization that may help us all to stay in touch.
It has opened up a great source of communication.
I'll look at other stops on your site, happy to come upon this. Were any unit commendations awarded either of the organizations I was with, e.g.; Americal Hq., also 196th LIB and 10th PID? I'll send same query to Webmaster or whomever.
I'm very excited about your site. I would like to join a chapter.
I was a medic in attached unit out of Chu Lai
Question - Did H/17 Cav ever get a unit citation for their 3-day action just prior to Tet 1970? Our intelligence? discovered afterward that they had engaged and broken up the Tet build up aimed at over running Chu Lai. I know they saved my bacon! Since I worked at Division Personnel Management, I know there were only a handful of survivors. Please let me know.
As a first time user it looks good. Is there anyone out there who has squad info on Co. D 1/20th 11LIB for Jan-May 68.
Just got here!
I am looking forward to browsing the web site. Hopfully I can locate some brothers from Nam.
I like your pages. They are well done.
I have checked with St. Louis, and they said the award I'm trying to track down is not in "the big book". Now, I'm trying to track down the original orders for a Presidential Unit Citation that I believe was awarded for action during the first week in May, 1968 by 3rd Platoon, D Troop, 17 Cav, 199th LIB.
I have found one reference to it,
I remember participating, and cannot verify it.
Any suggestions that you can give will be welcome.

D Troop, 17 Cav, 199th LIB, RVN 67-69
Great page work
Great job. The ADVA electronic guys really appreciate it. Anyone wanting to write to us contact me syvv40a@prodigy.com
I would like to find any guys who were in the Kham Duc operation. Ty Harper (C 2/1) and Doss Kornegay (Echo Recon 2/1) and I would like to get a 30 year reunion going in 2000.
Nice page I think it is fine some body did something like this, I check the pages every now and then Keep up the good work for those of us who are not capable of doing this type of thing...
I Come to the site thru the USMEDALS.COM link and I am definitely glad I did. My unit was better known to those in the bush as the "GUNFIGHTERS" and seen by then as the F-4 Phantom. I understand from some Army and Marines that they looked mighty good on a close air support run. I'm just glad that I may have been able to help some of you come back to "THE WORLD."
This is a very nice service, thank you very much.
Also served in the 25th Div at Chu Chi and the 199th Light Inf. Brigade at Ben Hoa.
Would like to find David Hansen who served in the 1/14th from about January or February 70 to the same in 1971. He was the Bn. Clerk. As I recall, he was from Delta Colorada and was a VW mechanic before being drafted.
I am Bruces son. I have been trying to find someone, anyone that served with my dad. My dad doesn't talk about Vietnam very much, but I am very proud of him. If there are any reunions coming up anytime soon, please let me know. Or if you happen to know of anyone that served with my dad, please let me know.
Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate it.
Glad to finally see the homepage; Fantastic job for a great organization!
This is the first time I've been on this WEB page, and I think it is a great opportunity to gain information from, Great work.
Its nice to remanice, but not nice to remember.

"PROUD TO BE PART OF THE ADVA"
I just became aware of this Web page by way othe 196th Lighth Infantry Brigade Association. I became aware of the death of Father G the hard way. Publications/ Societies like ours/yours help to keep us up on things of the past that were major parts of our lives. Thank you for the work that you folks are doing.
