I'm very proud to say that I serve with The Americal Div. In Viet Nam in the years of 68-69. And very proud of all my buddies that serve with me.

I just happened onto this sight while I surfed the net. Brought back some memories viewing this webpage. Thanks for the great effort and time, anyone out there remember me get intouch.

Great site. Based out of Chu Lai at the " Manor " I was Musket 35 for the 176th AHC. I served at Ft, Rucker, Al, 70'-71' as a UH-1 Contact IP, and then back to the civilian world. Retired from the FAA,I now fly for the Manatee County Sheriffs Office. I'd love to hear from any of you that served in Nam.

Fantastic tool for all vets. Have found one buddy, so far! It was great talking to you "Gomer". Still looking for my address book. Waiting for your reply. Athur "R.C." Casto

On my fathers headstone at Pinelawn National cemetery in Long Island N.Y it has BSM OLC on the bottom..Please advise how I can obtain info regarding these inscriptions..Thank you in advance....Paul Rudy

Just got the nerve lately to stick my head out from the past and joined the Americal Division Veterans Association. Mostly to see if I could touch base with any guys left from my platoon. My RTO, SP4 Swaney wrote me a letter in Feb 1970 to let me know that most all of the platoon was ambushed and killed. I can't remember which platoon we were all in though. ADVA, thanks for the opportunity to start the long road back to the guys that served together to survive. SSGT "Ski"

Great site!

Great website, Keep on keeping on!

I welcome the opportunity to get re-connected with the organization.

I'm very impressed by your organization. It's too bad the army was'nt as organized in '69.

Gentlemen, Came across your site and want to just say--well done! Also have a question. The 1/35 & 2/35 are organizing a reunion for this September in Las Vegas. I have been anointed as "Reunion Historian." One of the topics I am researching is the time our units spent in the Que Son/Hiep Duc valleys around October '67 to February '68.I recall spending some time at three 1st Cav fire bases: LZ Ross, LZ Colt, and LZ Baldy. Were all of these in the Que Son valley and can anyone tell me approximate locations, or better yet--specific coordinates? Thanking you in advance for your cooperation. Best Regards, Dick

My dad is deceased but was from Fargo,North Dakota and was an original member of the 164th Infantry. He was a 1lt in hdq. company I believe. He was a semi-pro baseball player before the war. I would like to hear from anyone who knew him

I look forward to connecting with anyone I knew over there or since returning home.

In visiting your locator page and networking with another man we located through it, we have been able to find a long lost friend. Couldn't have done it without you and all of the work everyone there puts into these pages and all of the other services you all provide. We can't thank you enough. We're still looking for Bobby Foreman, so if there is anyone out there who knows Bobby or if Bobby reads this message, please get in touch.

A very good site. I hope to find some of my buddies.

I'm an Australian Vietnam vet. I am trying to get some information on father who served in the American Army, WW2, he was awarded Bronze Star Medal. But I can't get any more information about other awards. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Ed Minner

Would kike to hear from you.

I HAVE PITCTURES OF SOME OF MY GUYS AND LZ MARYANN.THANKS FOR BRINGING SOME TRUTH TO THE EVENTS.THE NEWS MEDIA WAS MORE INTERESTED IN REPORTING ABOUT DRUGS,THEN TRING TO FIND OUT WHAT REALLY WENT DOWN THAT MORNING,AND WHAT LED UP TO THE ATTACK.CHARLIE HATED US AND FEARED US WE WERE THE BEST DAMN INFANTY UNIT IN VIETNAM.CHARGING CHARLIE!!

I served in Delta Co. 3/1 and wasw assigned to the weapons platoon.

My grandfather, Walton Porter, was a draftsman for the army in WWII. He made the maps for the ground troops to follow. I don't much about what he did or who he knew. I just remember him saying that he would never be cold again! I have a few of his medals and photos, which will be cherished forever! Thanks for such a wonder site. God bless!

Hi My dad was 82nd Airborne, H&H Battery, Div. Arty. He was in North Africe, he jumped into Holland, he was at the Battle of the Bulge and then Normandy. How can I trace his steps? I can not find anything. It is usually the 504th, 505th etc but no H&H. If someone could help me I would be most appreciative. I am just lost. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Donna Contreras please email me if you have any info.

Sounds like a good program.

this agreat tool for locating old war buddys

Thank you for setting up and running the web site; great way for people to reach out across time and space. Would like to hear from any of the folks who served in the 1/52 at LZ Stinson or were at LZ Bayonet from 10/69-10/70.

You've done an excellent job with this site! Having served in the Navy I don't wish to intrude, but I wanted to tell you that I had the privilege of meeting and talking at length with JESSE DROWLEY, CMH, at a Medal of Honor function in Frankenmuth, MI in July 1994. I've studied the Medal and it's recipients for over 30 years, so you can understand what a thrill that occassion was for me. I know the Americal Division is very proud. Keep up the good work on this informative site. Thank You, Dave Heathcote, Kalamazoo, MI

Great website, I have had quite a few 1SG's that were in the Americal Division in my early days. Too bad you don't see them around too much anymore....taught me a great deal about being an Infantry NCO..........Much thanks to them!!!!!! Op D Shield/Storm

This is my first time to use the locator. I guess the statute of limitations hasn't run out on me.

My Wife and I will be at the Reunion in St. Louis Mo. This summer.

Then I'll have to think about it!!!

I am just an ordinary American interested in why we went into war with them. What the families and people themselves where feeling/felt with being so far from home and how they kept in contact with the ones they loved the most. They say this war changed a lot of people's way of thinking. To some it seemed a war that made no sense at all. I feel for all that served during this time of our country's needs. And feel proud also to call them AMERICANS. Would like to hear from those that served if possible. Their personal accounts of the war, how their families at home were handling it, etc. Everything to help me make sense of this war. And thank you.

I was very happy to find your site on the web. It took me 30 years to try and locate someone from my old unit. keep up the good work and i wii visit your site on a regular basis. Again i thank you.

To all those that put together and maintain this site, Thank You. Bruce Walters

Hi, My name is Mike, i live in Sweden, i have no live-combat experience, i have done 1 year of military duty as mortal group commander, and now days i am active in the local guard defence force. Well why does a Swedish dude with no connection to the vietnam war neither WWII what so ever, do on a place like this? Well i am planing on writing a book, or at least a compendium, on the wars of the 1900 sentury, as we now move in to the new millennium, i think it is important to collect the real stories of they that really where there, most of the fact books you find in the bookstore or in the library, school etc just bring up the pure facts, but they leave a lot of questions, that need to be filled with your stories, they that really know what it is all about, you that where there. so if there is some of you vetīs that like to share some of your stories with me bad or good,If there is someone of you that don't want your stories to be forgotten, i would be glad to collect them in my book/compendium. at last. if u noticed my english might not be perfect, for the book i have a friend that will correct it for me. Thank you for your time, and for those who might send me some material i am waiting and looking forward to read your stories, and for the other folks out there i whish you the wery best, and for the master of this website i thank you for a good site. sincere Mike H

I have attended two Hill 411 reunions which is made up of veterans in the 11th. infan. brigade located at duc pho from 1968 to 1971. Please contact me about our year 2000 reunion in Washington, D. C. Also Tom Petty at 2328 N. W. 48th. OKC, OK. 73112

I think that this is one of the first places anyone should go to when they sign on to the internet.

Great site!! I wish I had found it earlier.

Great site. Am looking forward to finding old friends. Thank you very much.
