I was a member of the DaNang Gang, 1968.
Great looking home page. Keep up the good work.
F Troop 17th Cav, Feb - June 1971
I like the locator a lot. I have already located a member of my old infantry unit. Thanks.
Excellent pages. I served with Medal of Honor recipient, then Capt Kern Dunagan, and was his XO in May of 1969. An extremely brave man. I never had the chance to tell him, as he was dusted off after the actions mentioned in the citation. Thanks for the memories. 1/46, 196 LIB Americal, Nov 68 - Jun 69.
Your home page has been very informative. I'm a Vietnam Era Vet. I'm facinated with the Americal's history and participation in the Pacific during WWII. It amazes me that more is not known, and that more has not been written.
It was nice to get this page from a list of v-vets. Looks like you guys are doing a good job and if you can send me information on B Company 123rd Aviation Battalion I would appreciate your efforts very much.
My dad Thomas Garvin just passed away on 5-24-96. He served in the Phillapines in 44-45 and has many photos. Anyone who served with him, I would like to hear from. Also my dad received the Bronze Star but I don't know the specifics or circumstances. how can I find out this information. my family would love to know.
Just browsing through. It was good to see some names that I recognize from Viet Nam. I served as a Radar Operator from 1970-1971 - Hawk Hill, Chu Lai.
Thank you for having this web site, and caring about us Vets.
Really a Great Idea... Looking for a lot of "lost buddies"
I was Americal in 69 out of Quang Tri via 3 MAF at Da Nang, doing civil affairs in Quang Tri province. In 68 I was with 11th LIB at LZ Liz.
Very good.
Served with the 132d ASHC AMERICAL DIVISION, CHU LAI 70+71.
I was a member of ADVA for several years. I lost contact of the org; happy to find you on the net. I was with F Trp., 17th Cav 196 Bde 70-71. Hope to link with other F Trp brothers on the net. Thank you for the ADVA net.
Much needed service. Thanks.
Hello Brothers. Looking for anyone who wants to carpool, share-a ride from Texas to the August 21-25th 196th LIB Locate-A-Brother Reunion in Las Vegas. The last one in Vegas was great. I can't fly due to heart disease, all Americal medics send commo or watch for Doc's homepage.
Very interesting and informational site.
Interesting to find this on-line. Was just involuntarily retired from the USAR due to migration of my helicopter unit to the National Guard. Wasn't able to get a UH-60 transition even though our unit -WAS- slated to get UH-60's. Our schools were cut off once one of our generals saw a way to get more stars...!! Does that sound like Vietnam or what??? Am a former Warlord - B Co 223rd Avn out of Chul Lai Aeroscout. Thanks for the page.
This is a real tribute. I do not have the time to explore further was led here via a link. Want though, to know history of the Americal in '69, Vietnam. We were told that we were working with/for them down by Chu Lai in '69. I never found out the truth. Guess we never knew the truth about most things. I was in the 26th Marines 9th Amphibious brigade. I will be coming back to satisfy my curiosity.
This is a great way to keep up with ADVA. I hope that fellow vets surfing the Net find us and are able to reunite with men and women that they served with so long ago.
Worked with some of you guys around Chu Lai in 70'. Looks like you're still doing a good job.
Nice to know that you Care, should I say, we are out there. I was in the 48th ISPD from Nov.1969 till Oct. 1970.
Served with 6th Bn 56th Arty Aug 68 - Aug 69 Chu Lai
Served with C Company 1966-67-68 Welcome home men.
Great Job. I've already found one old friend. Hope everyone can make the reunion in Reno this June.
