Good sight, hope it works
Home base was Hawk Hill, was on LZ Maryanne, Boxer, Casey Jones, Judy etc. etc.
the list will help find old friends
My father is Col. A.W. Lee III and commanded the 191st tank batallion during the second world war. He is still alive and well in his home of Dubois, Pa. I grew up listening to his stories and paging through his wonderful scrap book. Dad would love this sight but hates computers and all, but I will pass this on to him and show him this page when he visits us in June. I am an E-8 (Senior Chief Petty Officer) assigned to Admiral Padgett's staff here in Groton and navigate subs for a living. Like my Dad, I am proud to serve this fine nation. Good job on the page and I look forward to hearing from you! BZ!

Pleasantly surprised to find this site. Proud to have served in the Americal Div. I am a PDC in the Dept. of Ohio DAV and am still active and concerned about veterans affairs. Will revisit often to keep updated. Keep up the good work.
It has been many, many years since the Americal inactivated. Thanks to you and the other leaders for taking the time and devoting the effort to provide the great soldiers of the division with a common point of reference.
I would like to thank everyone who had a part in this web page,I found it very informative and also very moving.
Enjoyed site. My father-in-law was U.S. Navy aircraft mechanic on Guadacanal and at Bouganville during the time the Americal Div. was there. He tells exciting stories and travel to many reunions.
Just passing through, and thought I'd say "howdy"?

Excellent website. Very informative.
My Dad was in the Americal Division in Vietnam 1969-70. He stepped in a mine and we are looking for the man who pulled him out and got him on a medivac. The man's name is David Markovina and he was originally from Pennsylvania. If anyone knows how we could reach him to tell him "Thanks", Please email me at mbordner@umr.edu. My dad's name is Randy Bordner. Thank you so much.
Looks good. Found someone I served with briefly. Just getting my feet wet on the net. What's the best way to find a specific person?
Thanks for being here
Great site! This might give me a chance to locate old but not forgotten shipmates. I was stationed aboard the U.S.S TRIPOLI LPH 10 FROM 1966 (PLANK OWNER) WHEN IT WAS COMMISSIONED in Philadelphia,Pa. until I was discharged in oct 1968.I was an ETR3, but also started of on the Deckforce
Fantastic job. A really Great service. Keep up the good work.
I am not a veteran, but the proud son of a WWII vet. my father received the BRONZE STAR, PURPLE HEART, & GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. i have a german 8mm rifle slug in a little brown envelope to explain the PURPLE HEART and before lightning struck my mother's house i had the certificate for my father's BRONZE STAR. on the award was typed the reason for being awarded the medal. something about our troops retreating from the banks of a river & not being able to return fire because it was not know whether or not all our troops had been evacuated. my father crawled back to the river to confirm complete evacuation and was severly wounded on his return. he would not let them evacuate him to a medical facility until he had located all the enemy's positions on a map. the loss of that tattered and torn piece of paper was probably the greatest in that fire. where can i find something out about perhaps a replacement "piece of paper" ? HIS NAME: JOEL HOWELL BUTLER BIRTHDATE: APRIL 15, 1913 BIRTHPLACE: BALDWYN, MS BRANCH: U.S. ARMY CAMPAIGN: GERMANY/EUROPE ????? please help, if you can!
respectfully,
I think this is great. Hope to hear from some of my old buddies.
