JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO
Great site you have here! We are looking for shipmates and friends of the ex-USS Richard S. Edwards DD-950. Please join us at our online photo album at www.DD950.cjb.net . Then add your name to the crew list and sign the guest book at the www.DD950.com Web site.
Just attended the St. Louis reunion, had a great time ,wanting to locate other vets that i served with.
I trained at Ft Devens, Mass and went over as a group on the UNNS Rose from Boston, Mass thru the Panama Canal to Long Beach, Cal and then to Nam. I was motor Sgt for HHC and later went on rides with F Troop . I had to leave early because of family problems. would like to hear from some of the crew. Thanks Sgt"ski".
Looking forward to hearing from anyone around my time! or cosgrovemike@hotmail.com
Very proud to be associated with the Americal Div.
Excellent Site! I was assigned to "Operation Oregon" april 67 and sent to Saigon to process in officers. Worked around MACV area and we lived in "tent city". Shipped out to Chu Lai as a unit. Worked in Officer's Records and then Awards and Decorations when a personnel or admin unit was assigned, or we became a division. Left for home shortly after Bob Hope in December 67 and just before Tet.
Great site!!
Great Site, Hope to here from some old buddies it's been 30yrs.
had more bad times than good but got home in one piece thank god
I am glad to have found this web site.
I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION ON HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER.
Long ago I was able to separate my personal disgust with the reasons for the war and its conduct from my own accomplishments and from the everyday tenacity and bravery of the men in my unit (4th of the 21st inf 11th light infantry brigade). I am proud to have served with you and considering what we were up against, the bumbling incompetance of our leaders, the ferocity of a resolute foe, I hope you all know we did damn well. As for me, I was wounded for the third time 08/16/69 and sent home, no major lasting effects. I have been a computer programmer for several years and live in Columbus Ohio.
My nickname is Charley I now live in Los Lunas, New Mexico
STUMBLE IN PURE LUCK[FATE?] I WAS A TAILGUNNER ON A P.B.M. MARTIN-MARINER P.B.M. 5.Would love to hear from any one who has any info on Air Crew "Sugar",Pat. Bomb. Squd. 208. this is a great site!!! andy

Now involved in Vietnam Veterans of America and DAV. Looking at other organizations of interest. Was a pilot OH-6 observation, ash/trash, VIP, arty adjustment, etc. Moved to CAV as war stood down just after the big storm in 71 that killed the last of our aircraft. Retired after 22 years and am now an RN. Happy to see Vets looking after one another. As it was then and is now. Call sign Moose
I think this is a great way to find old friends.....
I went through Boot Camp in NRTC San Diago. I spent 18 months on NAS Agana Guam attached to OMD Line Division. I then went aboard the USS Bennington CVS-20 home ported out of Long Beach California. I made the 1968 WESTPAC Cruse.
The 588th had its first reunion 11-13 June. It was an outstanding get together. We will have another one in 2001 dates and place to be announced later. Need to hear from anyone who didn't make this one Smitty
I'd like to highly recommend the book "After the Storm: A Vietnam Veteran's Reflections" by Paul Drew, A Company, 3-21 Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Sep'65-Jul'67, pub 1999, Hellgate Press. It's not a combat diary, it is who we were - before, during and after - and the times and people who impacted on our lives. It is an excellent read.
It's been awhile since i have signed in. thank you.
i love it ,brings back memories, when i see some of the same units, that i was in.i am looking for larry cox, home address,or ph no,his ,ADVA id# is 19980117.112135,we were in the 589th.thanks

To all vets who read this; I am 14 years old, and I would like to make a statement that my generation needs to get across to you men and women. Thank You WWII vets, Thank You Korean War vets, Thank You Vietnam vets (who were brave enough to fight), Thank You Gulf War vets. I am truly grateful for all you who have served, even when the US wasn't in support, you still fought. I am 14, and not embarassed to actually say the Pledge of Allegiance when no one else in homeroom does. I am grateful, so Thank You. God Bless you all.. Feel free to e-mail me. Josh Age 14

I think this site is great!!! Everyone in the military loses touch with everyone they come in contact with practically. This is great that we can now find those friends from "the good ole days". I think I speak for many when I say "thanks for the creation of this site."
