Thank you for the home page. It's a great asset. For those who can't get to Washington, the Governor of Kentucky will be rededicating the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Frankfort on the morning of November 11 at 11:00 a.m. If you haven't seen Ky's memorial, you ought to. It's one of the best. Y'all come.
This is very good, the Americal on line.I have located some friends with this site. 1SG RETIRED,IN WISCONSIN.
Welcome Home BROTHERS
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR THIS WEB SITE. I JUST FOUND IT AND I THINK IT IS GREAT.
All efforts should be made to re-unite old service buddies. I have been trying but with no success.
It has been a long time for me to even think about Viet Nham but now Iam glad I can fineley start to bring some of this back to me.For so maney years I would not let Viet Nham out, I think what you guy's are doing is wonderfull. THANKS.
I think this Oranization is good for the vets of the US Armed Forces who served in wars of Combat. A lot of friends were gained through these men & women fighting togather side by side. I am really hopeing to hear from some of the old gang. It was really an experience to be with such fine members of the Armed Forces of the United States.
I am only 15 years old but i think this is a very good site. And i always been intntresed in the vietnam war and im happy that this site exists
Thanx Is there a segment with moor info aboutunits@ individuals in them?
I appreciate your efforts.
Very well done. Keep up the excellant work.
What can you say? It was a hell of a time and place to be! So much happened that year. My Lai, TET 68, siege at Khe Sahn, and at home (the world), Martin Luther King murdered, Bobby Kennedy murdered, and so many cities at home burning. I thank Almighty God for redemption!
Thanks!
Enjoy the Americal Newsletter especially the articles....Been able to locate several lost buddies over the years. Is their a list of archives i.e. Company rosters in order to locate additonal lost friends?
THIS MY FIRST VISIT TO THIS SIGHT. I THINK THAT THIS IS GREAT!!!
I am half way through the Guest Book, Contacted several. Was at Chu Lai Nov68 - May 69, was called hitchhiker going to Arty sites to check ammo storage, had 39 unrecorded combat flights, always leaving my flack jacket, as I sat on it protecting the pearls!!!! Chief Mack or Chaps, welcome home brothers and sisters, God bless you all. Thanks to staff of ADVA. Member: AL, VVA, DAV, VFW, MCCVA, 1st LOG ASSO. joining ADVA!!!!

Forward observer Mary-Ann, LZ Young Da-Nang LZ Rawhide hill 270
FOUND YOUR WEB SITE IN THE VFW MAGAZINE. I WAS IN THE 1/82 ARTY 1970-71. I THINK THIS IS A GREAT PAGE LETS TALK.
CHU LAI VETS LETS TALK
Served in Viet Nam from November 68 to December 69. Served with some of the most dedicated guys I would ever put my life in their hands. Alan Page from Virginia, Ray (Doc) Esimaker from Detroit MI., Sgt Lauton, Alan Mullen my Ag From Pennsylvania.
When I looked in my VFW Magazine and saw the section of "Did You Wear One of These Patches ?" and spotted my old unit Patched I jumped up out of bed thinking about some of the old guys trying hard to remember their real names grabbed my old Army briefcase to see if I could find some papers with their names on it,went straight to my computer and logged onto the Web Site. I really think this Association is something good for the old Vets of Vietnam, I hope someone sees my name from the old unit and gets in touch.
Thank you for the opportunity to register. I have submitted a locator request. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach two men I served with and would very much like to make contact with them. They were very important to me.
I was just wandering down memory lane @ thought Id drop in. 445 579er LZ guppy Antenna valley qua sahn valley etc. But there wasnt anyone I knew. I did walk a few klicks with elements of the 196th lt. Infantry (THE BASTARDS OF THE VALLEY)
Good site. By the way do you have any order of battle regarding the Gulf War " DESERT STORM" . By the way I from Australia. Long live the ANZAC.
I was pleased to see the add for this site in the VFW magazene. I'm glad this forum in available.
A co 1-20th till hill 352, then LRRPS, then Americal replacement center.
Great site.
Great idea
Would like to hear from unit members who knew me, also need an application form to join the association. I was Ken Hendrix's replacement when he got his face burned on LZ West Formerly I was the BN S-5.
My dad served in the Americal during WWII. He now resides in a nursing home due to ill health. He served in Guadalcanal. His last duty station was the 31st Station hospital in the Phillipines. His name is Walter E. Dengler, service #20605788. He resides at Sunrise Manor, 333 S. Wrightsman St. Virden, Il. 62690. He has a phone in his room. #217-965-4023. He spends most of his time watching WWII tapes on his VCR. He would enjoy hearing from old Army buddies. Thanks
I Assume that the Select All That Apply section, applies only to the war in which we served with the Americal. I also served in WW II And the Korean War but, with different units.
Love the concept of the page however I am yet to make contact with anyone
It is great that the 196th is finally reactivated and very appropriate that it serve in USARPAC. Having been the last USASCH IG (1984-1986), I am very well aware of how important the training and readiness of the far flung empire of the RC in the Pacific. Recommend you change your Select All that Apply list to read "Era" after Vietnam and add another category for Other Conflicts, to include Panama, Somalia, etc. Also, 196th unit history for service in specific battles or campaigns, much of which can be gathered rather quickly and without cost from the US Army Center for Military History website would really enhance your already fine webpage and do homage to your unit veterans contributions in combat.
Looks good so far. Have a lot of old Army buddies, mostly from the Nike Hercules that were all over the US and world. 15th Arty Gp, Eight Army, Korea, Germany and all over the place.
I was Third Platoon Leader of C, 1/46 , and S-3 Air during 1970, after coming up from The First Division, after it redeployed Many of the fine men I served with were killed on FSB MaryAnn on 28 Mar 71, and I hope you will join me in honoring them.
I DON'T HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS YET. HAVEN'T FOUND ANYONE I KNOW YET. THIS IS A GREAT SERVICE TO US ALL. TO ALL, I THINK OF YOU GUYS ALL THE TIME. THE REUNIONS WERE SOMETHING I WILL NEVER FORGET.
I served as a Btry B 3/16th section chief on the Special Forces Camp at Tien Phouc.
none
bierut vets have been over looked for a long time. Though there was no war declared in our case we did serve, fight and die in that god foresaken land in 1982,1983. This is what i think. Did i waste my time telling you what i think, yes, no. For years it has haunted me losing my friends and rarely hear much about it. I know there are others who feel the same(forgotton). I have lived my life among the vietnam vet for years. Sometimes i must remember who i am, oh thats right they call me baby-san (vietnam vets). I am quite known in the v.a. system (c.v. m.c). Iam a life member of the DAV. So there is a little of my comment. I was Just compelled to write this, just to say dont forget my comrads, dont hide us under the mat. Speak of us and remember. Bierut Lebanon 1983
I was just browsing, looking for Officers' Wives I knew while my husband was stationed at March AFB, California between Jan 1991 and Jan 1994. Would love to hear from anyone who fits that category.
keep up the good work ,we need more of this in able to find lost friends
Just discovered this site. Plan to become a member. Was on the parade ground for the re-activation of the Americal Division from Task Force Oregon. Ambassador Bunker and VP H. Humphrey in attendance. The 258th PSC was the 80-man forerunner apparently of the 23rd Admin Co. Our unit left from Fort Hood to Seattle and shipped by the USNS Upshur to Vung Tau, then C-130'd to Chu Lai. Welcome any inquiries.
I Wish to thank Gary Noller and his crew for this oppertunity. Thus far I havn`t found any names that I can remember, but im sure they are out there. I Would like to hear from any body that may remember me from any of the many outfits i`ve been in, Have been retired now for almost 27 yrs.and lost track of a lot of good men.
I'm proud to see that there are people out there that refuse to forget.. Who refuse to let my friends die in vain.. And who honor the soldiers who died, not because it was politically correct or even morally justified, but because they loved and respected this country, answered their country's call to service.
God Bless Us All!!!
hope we can find the people we are looking for. Thanx good site. maybe a name locater .
